Un Ciudad Que Está Muy Loco (It's Portland)

Portland weather is stupid, it rains, snowy then is sunny within like 10 minutes. Snowed a couple times this week and rained a ton too but also had a few days with a bit of sun. 


Went on exchanges with one of my roommates and it was quite an experience in a few words but I bought lots of food that day. My comp is on a diet for his last 6 months and I'm doing the literal opposite, as in a snack only diet, and meals of course but extra snackies. This next Thursday is the end of transfers too so that's exciting. 


Had 2 peeps at church today and a lot of our Spanish group was there too which was great and then had some really really good dinner since I fasted. Which was it's own miracle since God is good and kept my blood sugar good til my dexcom gave out two days early. I guess it was worth it tho. I got to fast both meals and Satan got my dexcom, but I have more so jokes on him. L.


Have had to drop a bit of people but also have had some fire peeps progressing. And I finished the BofM all the way through, in 6 weeks ish (one transfer). It's been a pretty cool transfer for my studies and The BofM is just so overpowered and will strengthen us against everything from the Devil.

    
Read a fire talk for DC (district council) prep by Russell M Nelson called We can do better and be better. It's from 2019 and I invite all of yall to read it and study it this week. Let me know if you learn something fuego you can apply in your life. I found a ton of things  and I just love our prophet today. 


Cooked some pretty great carne asada fajitas for the apartment. Came out smelling just like home it was really good. Last night talked mostly the entire evening with my comp in Spanish which was really good and not a huge issue since I understood like everything.  But trying to remember all the conjugations is a tough one and almost imposible sometimes.


Went to the temple today too which was quite fantastic. I love the Portland temple so much it's so cool. Got half off at Baskin Robins cuz we missionaries which was cool . Played some zone volleyball as well. And a lil basketball.

Hola Had a doc appt that we were a lil late to but it was still fine, then spent almost 2 hours in traffic and then had a mission wide zoom call that was good. Then the next day spent 4+ hours at a Firestone to get the tires on our car fixed, but did leave and get lunch at a Hawaiian restaurant that was really good. And some random peeps there paid for us which was cool. Also had dinner with the Constans which was fun later that day (Wednesday)         On Monday, April 1st, an elder thought it would be funny to shove flowers in my face to smell them at chick fil a, and then I kept sneezing all day and for the rest of the week. But each day something added on. First day after that my nose was runny, second my throat, then on Thursday I developed a fever at the end of the day. 4th Of Julio

Hola a todos.  This was a long week cuz of the 4th of July they moved our pday to today so we went 1.5 weeks inbetween pdays but it has finally arrived.  We were told about this guy who was stranded on the side of the road right at the edge of our area and hadn't eaten for 2 days. We didn't know what to really do, so eventually ended up talking with him and brought him some KFC and then went back each day while he waited for a part to fix his car and brought food so he wouldnt be hungry. It was pretty cool getting to know him and to be able to help too. Went to a cultural activity for the community in Canby where we live and got some free lunch (carne asada) and it was good and talked to lots of Hispanics too. Not too many of the Branch members were at church this week cuz they were sick and/or busy but yeah.  Nothing crazy has happened really, its been quite the same as always except for Tuesday was good, had some lessons and they went super good. Time Is So Weird But Probably Like The 3rd Week Here In Portland

  More buñuelos from our amazing friends we taught and they are just so great and I'm hoping we can get them to church and then into the water next. Also went bowling which is kinda a weekly pday tradition now and I was doing really good. Sadly we ran out of time and couldn't finish the second game, but it was so fun.      The Alameda ward here is really weird. They are all old. No youth except for one deacon and the Spanish group of the ward is like 8-10 people which sucks. But it is what it is and there's a lot of work to do.    Cleaned the church saturday and there was literally 5 of us total pero esa limpieza era bueno porque después comemos Rosca de Reyes which was so good with some fire Hot chocolate.     I'm getting pretty decent at basketball since we play literally everyday except Sundays for our workouts among other things.      I just finished the BofM yesterday which I started at the beginning of at home MTC.
