Week 2 In Portland

Image
Merry Christmas ya'll. Disculpe. This email might  jump around but enjoy. Played bowling and got a pretty high score and had this epic trick shot. And also won like 3 games back to back but it was fun. First match got 137 which was a one time thing. But found a cool way to bowl that works great.  Had this incredible experience when knocking doors the other night and we were blessed to talk to this family from Mexico that let us in and we talked about baptism and it was a great lesson. They gave us this mexican dessert that I kinda forgot the name of but it was like a churro waffle but super crispy y también Leche. Let me know if you guys know the name of it. (Pic at the bottom) Then on wednesday we were running late to and then we were reminded of a baptism we were asked to teach an intermediate message at and had to drive there. We taught it in Spanish of course and I felt like all my conjugations were really bad but when I looked around while talking people were nodding thei...

1st Week In Portland

Image
Woke up super early and caught a bus to a train to a different train to the airport. Then ate some Panda Express and later got on the plane. It was a really fast plane ride and then met the APs and the Mish president. Went to a stake center and ate lunch and talked a little then went to the temple and took proof of life pics. Then met my trainer Elder Adams. He reminds me of my temporary comp from the mtc named Elder Eves. He's great.  Tried to meet some peeps but no one answered. Still don't feel like much of a missionary yet but that'll come later. Started driving Saturday and it was fun but also kinda scary since it's a new city and i haven't driven for almost 2 months. But it was cool.  Sunday was great. I blessed the sacrament in Spanish and the ward im in is very small and mostly English but they have translators for the Spanish speakers. It's cool. Can't understand a lot of the people's Spanish because they talk super slurred but I'll get ther...

Prison

Image
Sup everybody. Not literal parole but everyone here makes it feel like a prison, the brick walls, bunk beds, and everyone talks like "I get out in a week" or "I've been here for 4 weeks now." Its fun though but I cannot wait to get out of here. It's been a crazy week. Everyone is just losing their minds since around 800 missionaries leave this week. But it barely hit me that I'm going to serve a mission in Portland Oregon. It has felt like a FSY camp this whole time except mtc it more spiritual and a lot longer. And in a new language. I'm gonna miss Sundays here, they are so spiritual and also the teachers have such amazing stories and are great. I can't wait to have my own stories like theirs after my mission. Had a pretty funny play on Tuesday as a preparing for the field workshop thing. It was pretty much like The Best 2 Years. Then had a devotional from the president of the relief society Pres Johnson. It was really good then took pics after ...

One Month Completed!!

Pretty normal week in the mtc, I guess. The days blend when they are the same. My Spanish is getting better daily but still not enough.    Sunday was super spiritual as usual, but this Sunday was slightly more idk why. I love the Go&Do time. It’s personal time to study and feel the spirit. It was great and I would say I was probably spiritually high. The First Presidency Christmas devotional was fuego and spiritual. We also had a Christmas Concert  Monday night that was good. Heard from a little group of musicians that played some good music. I forgot what its called but yeah. Then heard from Elder Nash of the 70, which was really good también. Also hit one month as a missionary on the 30th. Learning loads of Spanish and studying a lot more this week. It's crazy how time flies here at the MTC. Had a devotional Tuesday from Elder José A. Teixeira of the presidency of the 70. It was really good. Then in our review we had a discussion with Brother Grant, he is So Smart...
