Week 2 In Portland
Merry Christmas ya'll. Disculpe. This email might jump around but enjoy.
Played bowling and got a pretty high score and had this epic trick shot. And also won like 3 games back to back but it was fun. First match got 137 which was a one time thing. But found a cool way to bowl that works great.
Had this incredible experience when knocking doors the other night and we were blessed to talk to this family from Mexico that let us in and we talked about baptism and it was a great lesson. They gave us this mexican dessert that I kinda forgot the name of but it was like a churro waffle but super crispy y también Leche. Let me know if you guys know the name of it. (Pic at the bottom)
Then on wednesday we were running late to and then we were reminded of a baptism we were asked to teach an intermediate message at and had to drive there. We taught it in Spanish of course and I felt like all my conjugations were really bad but when I looked around while talking people were nodding their heads so that made me feel like I was doing good. It was great.
I can understand Spanish pretty well but speaking back is where the challenge is. But it's coming along. Had an awful then amazing night Thursday. We were stuck in traffic for at least and 2 hours and it sucked then picked up dinner from a member and were in traffic another half hour. But when we got to the apartment it was worth it. We got this good soup and a ton of little christmas gifts and a stocking and a ton of food it was great.
Had a zone training on Friday and then we actually found some new peeps to talk to while knocking on doors. Then my comp had to sing at a christmas devo at the visitors center for the portland temple. It was a good devo/concert.
Had zone christmas devos saturday and they were mostly musicals which was super good. Drove back and forth across Portland like 4 times at least that day and I'm getting pretty decent with directions here in Portland. Which is pretty cool. There is a ton of great senior missionaries and older members that are so funny(in a good way).
There's this ecodrive thing in the cars we drive and they score you based on how you start stop and cruise. Got a really high score of 97 which was pretty cool. Drove slower than slow and took me quite a while to get. But I did. It also was raining the other day then suddenly was raining bad then suddenly was hailing for like 5 minutes. It was crazy but normal.
Christmas Eve was great and full of miracles. We had 3/4 friends show up to church and then our cars radio system somehow fixed itself which was a blessing. Then we got a referral, called him, and got him on baptism date. It was great. Then had dinner with a member and it was really good. Doesn't feel like it's Christmas or like it's been 2 months already.
