1st Week In Portland

Woke up super early and caught a bus to a train to a different train to the airport. Then ate some Panda Express and later got on the plane. It was a really fast plane ride and then met the APs and the Mish president.

Went to a stake center and ate lunch and talked a little then went to the temple and took proof of life pics. Then met my trainer Elder Adams. He reminds me of my temporary comp from the mtc named Elder Eves. He's great.

Tried to meet some peeps but no one answered. Still don't feel like much of a missionary yet but that'll come later. Started driving Saturday and it was fun but also kinda scary since it's a new city and i haven't driven for almost 2 months. But it was cool.

Sunday was great. I blessed the sacrament in Spanish and the ward im in is very small and mostly English but they have translators for the Spanish speakers. It's cool. Can't understand a lot of the people's Spanish because they talk super slurred but I'll get there some day.

Had 6 friends go to church Sunday which was a lot and also this one guy tried to scam us for a plane ticket to San Diego which was "fun". All the people here we try to talk to never are home which sucks.

It's also pretty cold but hasn't rained yet which is good but the cold absolutely sucks. The roads here are super confusing and I'm so grateful for google maps and my trainer. But I'm actually starting to remember where to turn for this place and that so it's coming along.

Last night we were trying to get in contact with this friend and she wasn't home but her husband was but my trainer didn't say anything and made me talk to him and I completely blanked out and felt stupid. But I got the words out eventually. Then we went to our apartments to eat dinner and he wouldn't tell me the directions so I had to guess and we got home.

Morning exercise basketball in the mornings is pretty fun and I like how me and my comp speak English everywhere except with people who speak Spanish. So anytime we are with our district or zone we speak English. Which is good and also kinda not helpful for my Spanish. But it's OK.
