The Bulking Season

Hola Hola  We had interviews with President Bothchway last Thursday and a training from Sister Botchway. Both were fire and helpful. We have been having lots of really good lessons lately and English Class is getting a lil better. Had an apartment inspection from some members and they were funny but we cleaned a lot to get ready for it. Saturday was insane, we had lessons set up every hour plus a member meal and moderating, and we were fed like 5 full meals that day. It started off well with a fire lesson, then they fed us a lot of Venezuelan food and we were so full that we could barely finish the food. Then had some lessons fall through and a few happen, and then our lesson right before the member meal gave us these thick mango smoothies and then when we got to dinner we were already stuffed. But had some lasagna type food and salad and barely finished without throwing up. Then had some other lessons/moderated and then went to an inactive members house and they fed us some m...

Días Locos

It has been one insane week, let me tell ya. First off our Noche de Hogar (family home evening) and it was fire, lots of fire stuff happened. Then next day we had our Noche de Futbol and i definetly am getting better but pretty slowly. But it was fun though.  Had Zone Conference and it was fuego, got some good stuff from it. have had lots of our days killed and our schedules destroyed. But we are still going, very tired and exhausted but still here.  Lots of people somehow cant understand my spanish over the phone and think I am speaking english, but my comp does and they just hang up and it sucks. My spanish is tanking though, it sucks.  Had a Temple tour with Rodilin and the Granos (member family) which was epic and it really helped him to feel better and feel the Spirit stronger. The Temple is so epic and so peaceful and I love the Portland Temple. Its so cool. But had a good Sunday, had a linger-longer and had some good friends at church. And our members are awesome, ...

The Greenie ValVERDE

Hola hola todos! Esta semana fue demasiado loca. Last Tuesday and Wednesday were very weird and insane. I was in a trio in a different zone for the evening then with a different elder for the night and next morning. Then I was able to pick up my son Elder Valverde Casares. Then over the next few days having lots of meetings and trainings, and also lots of lessons and missionary work. And Allison (my sister) got married this Friday so now her name is a little less cool but seems happy so that's great. Very busy and stressed but still alive and striving. I got to conduct a baptismal interview since I am DL and it was so cool seeing how the gospel changes people. Our tire also was leaking so we had to change that on Sunday after church, and also since my son is Ecuadorian his Spanish is way way better than mine so our members already are liking him. Had my first DC yesterday and it went ok, I don't really know but it ended fine so hopefully it went well. Then took the car to get t...

Dad, DL, And Moderator

Hola hola Well this week was pretty interesting, it was my comp's last week so lots of goodbyes and logistical stuff. Our noche de fútbol was super fun and a big turn out and I can definitely say that my soccer abilities have grown. Our English class has been struggling recently but it will get better. I also have now been trained as a moderator for the mission FaceBook page that is top 3 social media missions in the world. So that's going to be fun to figure out.  This week has been really hard to focus on the work and not on going home since my comp is and it's been lots of goodbyes and our members have been going all out and are sad too. We did some service on Saturday at this foodbank place with some members that was super fun. Went to a baptism nearby to give talks on baptism and on the Holy Ghost, and I did the baptism one and it went pretty decent I would say. The senior Spanish couple, the Walls, are so awesome and I served around them my first 4.5 months in ...

Hola hola.  Qué bolá everyone (that's Cuban for whats up) Our friend we baptized a few weeks ago hasn't been able to make it to church but he always will just text us randomly and its really funny. We did do some service for a Catholic Charity and then a member that helps those took us out to Taco Salsa which me and my comp ate the day before but it was still really good. (Mexican food) Had some fire lessons this week with some older friends and also taught the usual English class and have been getting lots of referrals lately and they have mostly been super cool people. The others are still cool but they just kinda dodge us a lil. But had pur weekly meal with the Belmont family and she cooks some awesome Mexican food and has a crazy testimony story, and then the usual church cleaning right after then our ward huddle. Lots of driving lately. On Saturday had a zone training at a park mid day but my allergies were not happy. But had a meal with the Belmonts again Saturday at thei...
